Once a rural community composed of
Alberta sized farms and ranches owned by a few landowners, Springbank
has been transformed over the past two decades into Calgary's premier
estate/acreage community.
Located on the west edge of Calgary, about a 20 minute drive from
downtown, with breath taking scenery and mountain views. On a clear
day you can see the mountains and river valleys for miles. The ridge
top locations have such a clear view that it has been a favorite
haunt of painters looking to capture some of the magic.
In addition to its obvious natural assets, Springbank is highly
respected for its school system. It's long been the kind of place
to raise your family and never want to leave. Wild life is frequently
seen; moose, deer, coyotes, rare red fox and bald eagles. Community
spirit and easy access to Calgary and the mountain parks has persuaded
many professionals and Calgary's elite to make their homes here.
Springbank is west of, and, adjacent to, the City of Calgary extending
approximately 7 miles. On average 7 miles wide, it is bounded by
the Bow River to the north and the Tsuu Tina Nation (Sarcee Indian
Reserve) to the south. Local government authority is the Municipal
District of Rocky View #44.
